We got five clicks. Thank you, all five of you.

On September 23rd, Google sent a badge. A gold hexagon with a little star on it. "Congratulations! Your site reached 5 clicks from Google Search in the past 28 days."

Five. Not five thousand. Five.

This site has 512 pages. It has a 122-term glossary, a semantic query map, four games, a dog psychic hotline, and a full accounting of every engagement including the one that didn't work. It is, technically, one of the healthier small business websites on the internet.

Five clicks.

To the five of you

I want to be clear that I am not being sarcastic. Five people typed something into Google, saw this site, and decided it looked worth a click. That is five more than zero, and zero is where every site starts.

One of you was almost certainly searching for a company with a similar name. One of you may have been me, on my phone, forgetting to exclude myself. That still leaves three. Hello, three people.

What this actually demonstrates

A brand new domain with 512 pages does not rank the next week. Or the next month. Indexing takes time, trust takes longer, and there is no amount of technical perfection that skips the queue. If an agency tells you otherwise, ask them to show you the first 90 days of a domain they started from scratch.

I'll publish the number every month either way. When it's five, you get five. When it's a penalty, you'll get that too.

Your reward

As promised: call now and receive a free psychic reading from a dog. He is a real dog. He is wearing a headscarf. He knows what you're going to ask.

Call (502) 963-7305 Or consult the dog directly

Update: it is now ten clicks, which is a 100% increase and means almost nothing. The real story is in the impressions.
