wtf is
WTF is Shopify?
The CMS for selling stuff.
In plain English
A hosted e-commerce platform for online stores.
Why you should care
Great for stores. Some SEO settings are locked down, so you work around them.
What Shopify does well
Speed, security and structured product data come free. You don't have to think about hosting, SSL or plugin conflicts, which removes most of the ways a small store breaks itself.
What it makes awkward
- Forced URL structures. Products live under /products/, collections under /collections/, and you can't change that.
- Duplicate collection paths. The same product reachable several ways needs canonical discipline.
- Blog limitations. Usable, not generous.
Most Shopify SEO is content and internal linking, because the technical floor is already decent. Start with the queries you already rank for.
